Yotam was the founding director of the Wildfire Project, a training organization for grassroots organizing groups, and has facilitated in a variety of settings - from some of the leading racial justice and climate organizations in the US, to youth in Israel and Palestine, to some of the biggest movement moments of the past decade. Yotam was a leader at Occupy Wall Street, is a founding member of IfNotNow, and has initiated mobilizations and direct actions across issues, from immigration to climate justice and more.
On the side, Yotam tells jokes, reads fiction, cooks, plays softball with a bunch of oldl men, things like that. He’s also a pretty great dad, and his daughters are super cute.
“We need both strategic clarity and emotional health for our movements to thrive. That’s the thing I’ve learned most from Yotam, and what I see be the downfall of many other organizations. I remember one time Yotam agitated me in front of the group about my leadership and taking myself more seriously. I don’t remember every word, but I remember the physical memory of it like it was yesterday. I felt like I was flying on wings and a huge weight had been lifted off of me. I wish more people had the chance to experience that. It’s part of what put me on track to help build Sunrise. “
